# Cloning your voice

Create a voice clone so your AI Double sounds like you. You only need a short, clear recording of your natural speaking voice.

## Requirements

* Recommended length: **20 to 30 seconds**
* Maximum file size: **5 MB**
* Sample language: **English**
* Only clone your own voice, or a voice you have permission to use.

## How to clone your voice

1. Go to **Voice** page from the sidebar and scroll to the Voice Clone section
2. Choose to **Record** or **Upload an audio file**.
3. Submit the recording to create your clone.
4. Assign a suitable cloned voice to a Double

## Recording tips

* Mic recommendations
  * Use a studio-quality mic or condenser mic if available
  * On mobile phones, use the Dolby app on Android or voice memos on iOS.
* Record in a quiet room.
* Speak at your normal pace and volume.
* Make sure only one voice is heard.
* Listen to the recording before submitting it.

## Choose a script

Read naturally, like you are speaking to another person. Do not rush or perform.

### Balanced voice

Recommended for most users.

> Hey, I’m recording this for my Double. I usually speak in a calm, natural way, but when something matters, you can hear more energy. Ready? Let’s go! I explain ideas clearly, answer with confidence, and keep conversations warm, lively, and easy to follow. That’s how I sound.

### Simple voice

Use this if you prefer an easier reading pace.

> Hi, this is my voice sample for The Double. I’m speaking in a calm and natural way, with clear words and small pauses. My Double should sound helpful, confident, and easy to talk to, just like I would in a real conversation.

A clear recording produces the best result. If the clone sounds flat, noisy, or unnatural, try recording again in a quieter room.
